(Scroll down for video) A woman was arrested on charges of molesting a fire extinguishing system after allegedly setting off a water sprinkler in a hospital emergency room, police in North Carolina said.
Morganton Police said that they have arrested 20-year-old Katlyn Milligan, after being accused of flooding the hospital with water because she had to wait long to receive care.
The hospital turned into a chaotic and disastrous scene as employees rushed to move patients from the emergency room to a conference area.
Milligan told investigators that she had been at the Carolinas HealthCare System for at least 90 minutes, waiting for her mother’s girlfriend to be treated for back problems.
When Milligan became impatient, she went to the bathroom and held a lighter to the sprinkler for at least one minute before setting it off.
Water damage caused ceiling tiles to collapse in the hospital. Milligan was charged with burning personal property, damage to personal property and molesting a fire extinguishing system.
Her bail was set at $5,000.
