A man accidentally shot and killed himself in front of his friends.

Police in Florida, said that the man was checking to see if their was a bullet left in the chamber of a gun when he killed himself.

49-year-old Charles Cooper died after he put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger. He was out with friends on a fishing trip outside of Orlando, when the incident occurred.

Cooper had been drinking beer before shooting himself around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Friends of Cooper told investigators that he removed the magazine from the gun and the friend asked if there was still a round in the chamber.

Cooper then raised the gun to his head and pulled the trigger, discharging the last round, which killed him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A full autopsy will be performed. However, police said that there is no evidence to suggest anything other than an accident.
