(Scroll down for video) A teenager lost his life after confronting a man who had his smartphone.
The 18-year-old man of Canada, was shot dead after he used the Find My iPhone app to locate his missing phone.
Jeremy Cook took a taxi on Saturday, and accidentally left his iPhone in the car. Later that night, he used the Find My iPhone app to locate his device near a mall in London, Ontario.
Cook and one of his family members, traveled to the place to get his smartphone back. When Cook arrived, he confronted three men in a Mazda, who had his phone.
The driver of the car began to speed away, so Cook grabbed the driver’s side door to stop them from leaving with his phone.
One of the men in the car then shot him several times.
Police found Cook’s body behind the shopping center. They also found the car used during the crime and the phone nearby.
Police are now using surveillance videos to try to reconstruct the incident so that they can find the suspects.
