A mother of a 6-year-old girl in Ireland, was offered a refund at McDonald’s, after the child found a human fingernail in her sandwich.
The incident unfolded in Coleraine, Londonderry, when 38-year-old Lyn Richie decided to go to McDonald’s with her family for a meal.
She took along her 6-year-old daughter Ellyn, her 41-year-old husband George, and 12-year-old stepdaughter Katy. As Ellyn was eating her sandwich, she picked up the bread and saw the human fingernail sitting on top of the burger.
Richie immediately reported the incident to the manager who confirmed that the nail was a human. The manager offered her a refund of $26.
Richie reported the incident to the environmental department to make sure that such incidents do not happen again in the future.
McDonald’s apologized to Richie and launched an investigation into the incident.
